“Special Delivery” I understood the exclamation point at the end of the movie entitled: You've Got Mail! It is exciting to receive mail. The little pinging announcement that I have new e-mail is music to my ears. I’m eager to click on the new mail to read what someone wrote to me. If people don’t ignore their e-mail or a snail-mail letter from a person, why do we let dust collect on God’s “love letters,” the Bible? Perhaps we don’t realize that God will really speak to our hearts when we read what He has to say to us. Also, maybe we don’t really believe God wrote the Bible to us. We may think that the Bible is true, but not pointedly directed at each of us individually. However, we can learn, benefit, and know God better from what He has termed His “living word.” In other words, the Bible is God’s love letter to you! What helped me to enjoy studying the Bible more was to realize that God is just waiting for me every day to go spend time with Him. Would you want a friend who never called you or cared to spend time reading your letters so as to know what you had to say? So what kind of friend are you being to God? John 5:13: “I write these things to YOU who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” Pinging bell or not, you do have mail! Check it out–it’s from the lover of your soul!
