“Bath and Soul”

from Bev Bradley

When most people get dressed for the day, they are careful not only to look good, but to smell good as well. They diligently spray on, rub on, or slap on various fragrances. They may spend a small fortune for a trendy new scent just so they are more appealing. Maybe they smell fragrant to others, but how do they smell to God? (Keep reading; this really is Biblical!)

Though we spend time in front of the mirror, do we look into “the mirror” (God’s Word) for our soul? Are we also taking care to “groom” our soul? What preparations are we making for getting our soul ready to go out and serve others?

In 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 there is an explanation of how we are like a perfume to others. “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”

Would you like to join me in planning to do “a beautiful thing,” wafting a lovely fragrance to God this week? It will be fun to concentrate on our soul-fragrance. And, as an afterthought, a lot cheaper than shopping at “Bath and Body”!
